(More customer reviews)Target says this product is for ages 4 and up, which led me to believe the small size would fit a 5 year-old. Wrong. These fit my mother, who is 5'2", perfectly. I don't know too may 4 year-olds who are 5' tall. Instead of age, they should use height.

(More customer reviews)My son picked these out on line and got them for Xmas. Pads are hot and bulky and don't look cool. But, after he fell off his board onto his elbow and almost ruined his baseball season, he decided they do the trick! Helmets are important too! His head would have cracked had he not had on a helmet his last wipe out! He says if he has to wear pads, these are the best he's tried. (could they make them to wrap the entire body? -- this from mamma)

(More customer reviews)These are tight and too small for a grown man. They cut into my legs and arms. The so-called extra large set seem like they were made for a 10 year old. Now that I think of it, I should just give them to my 10 year old.
Haven't crashed yet to test out the protection, but they don't seem too promising in that department...

(More customer reviews)I'm a fitness skater who skated 1400 miles outdoors last year. I'm also over 50, and know it can take a long time to heal from injuries. I always wear a helmet, knee pads, and wrist guards when I skate. I only went down four times last year, but every time I fell forward on my hands and knees. The cloth part of the Lux knee pads is torn, and the palms of the wrist guards are deeply scored--meaning I left plastic, not skin, on the road.
The Lux pads are light and comfortable, and good protection. After I put them on, I'm not aware of them until it's time to take them back off. I'm ordering a new Lux set, absolutely convinced that the old set more than paid for itself in injuries prevented. About size: I prefer Large, although I'm at the top end of the medium in the size guide. The Large knee pads stay up in the summer, and fit over cycling tights in the winter.
Beginning skaters, who are going to fall a lot more, may want to look for a pad set with more padding than the Lux.
