(More customer reviews)I wanted an all-purpose helmet that didn't look like a bicycle helmet, but still provided ANSI/CPSC/Snell impact protection. Most of the "skateboard" type helmets contain a soft open-cell foam liner which does not provide suitable protection from the kind of impact sustained in a bicycle fall.
The ProTec B2 SXP fit the bill. I wear it for bicycling and unicycling. The penalty for multi-impact protection is of course weight. It's a little heavier than a dedicated bike helmet, but it's not designed for weight-weenie racers. Great for urban/commuting use. Could use a little more ventilation as well, but the light gold color helps deflect heat from the sun.
