these are hard plastic, so they are not shock pads, only risers. they are also alittle smaller than normal, so they fit exactly with the base-plate. and they look like the picture except that mine weren't 6 holed one. mine was 4 long slots, which was perfectly fine too. i assume they can be stacked. there are good risers and get the job done, and is very well made in its design and quality. i recommend them, but it really doesn't matter, because they are just risers...
